Frequently Asked Questions: Initial Consultation Overview

Your initial consultation is a key step in understanding your legal situation and determining how we can best assist you. During this 30-minute session, we’ll evaluate your circumstances and outline potential strategies, as well as what to avoid, based on the specifics of your case.

Consultation Fees

  • Zoom/Phone Appointment: $200

Important: Please have any documents related to your case available for review upon request.

The information you provide in your intake form—including entries/exits, marital history, and any arrest history—forms the foundation of your consultation and case evaluation. Mistakes or omissions that aren’t corrected during your consultation may negatively impact the outcome of your case.

What to Expect During Your Consultation

✔️ We Will:

  • Assess Potential Relief: Our attorney will evaluate your eligibility for various forms of relief, including family-based immigration, employment visas, asylum, and more.
  • Explain Options and Procedures: We’ll break down the legal options available and outline the typical steps involved in each process, such as adjustment of status or consular processing.
  • Offer Personalized Recommendations: Based on your case, we will advise you on the most suitable path forward.
  • Confirm Representation: If your case falls within our practice area and we’re able to assist, we’ll discuss the next steps in retaining our services.
  • Provide a Legal Fee Quote: A transparent, tailored fee estimate will be given based on the complexity of your case and required services.

❌ We Will NOT:

  • Provide DIY Guidance: We do not explain how to handle your case on your own. Immigration law is complex and should not be navigated without proper legal counsel.
  • Review Non-Legal Documentation: We will not review documents prepared by non-lawyers or offer input on materials created outside of professional legal channels.
  • Offer Detailed Strategy Guidance: We will not advise on specific arguments or documentation unless you become a client.
  • Guarantee Refunds: The consultation fee covers our time, analysis, and legal recommendations and is non-refundable—even if you choose not to proceed.
  • The foreign national must attend the consultation, whether in person or via phone/Zoom.
  • We strongly encourage the petitioner to join as well.
  • Interpreters or other essential individuals are permitted for phone/Zoom consultations.

Time Zone Awareness

All consultation times are scheduled in Eastern Standard Time (EST) (New Jersey, USA). Please verify the time difference from your location to avoid missing your appointment.

Punctuality Policy

We value your time and ours.

  • Arriving or joining more than 15 minutes late will be treated as a missed appointment.

To make the most of your consultation, please gather the following:

  • Entry & Exit Timeline: Include every entry and exit from the U.S., with the month/year and method of entry.
  • Arrest History: Disclose all arrests worldwide, regardless of outcome, for both the foreign national and (if applicable) the petitioner.
  • Marital History: List all current and previous marriages for both the foreign national and the petitioner, including informal unions and divorces.
  • Prior Immigration History: Mention all past applications, visa denials, asylum claims, or interactions with immigration authorities.

If Further Legal Research Is Needed

While we aim to provide on-the-spot legal guidance, some cases may require additional research. If so, we will schedule a 15 min follow up.

Refund & Rescheduling Policy

  • All consultation fees are non-refundable.
  • You may reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance without penalty.
  • No-shows or late arrivals will forfeit the fee.
  • Consultations are non-transferable.
  • Exceptions due to extenuating circumstances may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

To reschedule or discuss concerns, please contact our office directly.
